Amid PCA's record-breaking 2012 membership campaign, which raised more than $125,000 for our student-athlete programs, we received this note from Trey Tickner, a freshman soccer player at Washington and Lee University, who served on PCA's National Student-Athlete Advisory Board, a program we can continue thanks to the generosity of PCA supporters:
As my time as a high schooler winds down I wanted to thank you for what has been one of the best experiences of my high school career. Being on PCA’s National Student-Athlete Advisory Board has been incredibly rewarding. As much as I hope I have helped PCA move forward in the past few years, there is no question that I have benefited from the experience as well. To this day there is not an organization that I feel more akin to or have a greater appreciation for.
From the mission to the people I truly believe that PCA is doing just about everything right. The values that PCA has so long preached are some of the ones that are so core to my being and are the exact qualities that I have tried to carry though not only my athletics career but my personal and academic lives as well. I go back to Washington and Lee next week to start soccer training, but I still would love to help the PCA cause. If there is ever anything I can do to help and stay involved I would love to. Thank you again for everything.
All the best,
PCA's 2012 Membership Campaign raised funds that met a $55,000 matching challenge from PCA supporters, including major support from U.S. Trust, Silicon Valley. Funds will apply to PCA's student-athlete programs, including the National Student-Athlete Advisory Board, Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Program and Triple-Impact Competitor workshops.
