Full House At Breakfast Of Champions

07.20.2016

The Breakfast with the Champions was a huge success, drawing 240 attendees and raising $50,000 to put toward a growing workshop schedule and Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarships.

FOX Sports North’s Marney Gellner and the panelists did an excellent job of sharing stories of resilience and perseverance in family, sports and business. It was a full morning of insightful and humorous discussion with Natalie Darwitz, three-time Olympic ice hockey player and hockey coach; Rick Spielman, Vikings general manager; and Chris Spielman, college football analyst.

Attendees enjoyed a meaningful and motivating presentation and had the opportunity to ask some engaging questions. A key element of discussion was the importance of family amidst the failures and successes and joys and sorrows of life.

“It was a great honor to be one of the panelists,” shared Natalie Darwitz. “Every person in that room has the ability to impact young athletes. When an event like Breakfast With the Champions takes place, it can be so inspiring for the collective group and like-minded people to take action.”

Another event highlight was the impassioned advocacy for PCA from National Advisory Board Member, PCA-Minnesota Board Member and former Twins player Corey Koskie, who did a great job rallying attendees to support our cause.

Reflecting on the event, PCA-Minnesota Executive  Board Member Bruce Langer said, “Youth sports  should be fun for everyone involved. The stories  shared by the panelists shed light on the value of  family embracing a commitment to enjoyment.”

Langer said the Breakfast with the Champions event is growing each year. “It’s a great event at  every touch point. Thank you to all attendees. Keep bringing the message of PCA to your teams, and we hope to see you again next year.”
