Why Nominate Coaches For Our Awards: A Chance to Give Back

09.15.2016

John Arnston was recognized last year for the difference he makes in the lives of his athletes. The video above makes his impact on kids very clear. Not only does he make a difference in athletic endeavors, but his advice is to "be first class in everything you do." He puts his heart and soul into making his athletes better people. Above all, Arnston shares a genuine connection with each of his athletes.

Now is your chance to remind your coaches of the difference they make in your life.

For all that coaches give you, this nomination is a chance to give back to them.

If you're unsure that this kind of recognition matters to coaches, last year the following coaches let us know how it felt to be recognized:

Wendy Weiss, a High School girls softball coach from Caldwell, Texas, noted how much it meant to her receive the award. Not only did the recognition bring her to tears, but it also reminded her of the impact she has on a daily basis.

Kyle McIntyre, a basketball coach for Next Level Basketball in Sunnyvale, California, remarked how important it was for him that people were noticing his efforts and that his positive coaching habits were being seen and heard by others.

Carlos Strong, a middle school basketball coach from Athens, Georgia, let us know how honored he was that he could be recognized for giving kids confidence, something kids need to succeed in sports and life.

Justin McKay, a football coach at Algonquin Regional High School in Massachusetts, told us that it was "unreal and humbling" to know that his kids cared about him enough to nominate him for the award.

John Carroll, a basketball coach at Northfield Mount Hermon School, saw the award as important because it recognized both winning and life lessons. It wasn't your typical "participation trophy" award as it recognized performance as well.

Eve Knowles, a volleyball coach from Chino, California, was humbled by the award because she felt it matched her holistic coaching style and represented more than just the sport

This award mattered to each coach for different reasons, but without a doubt it was a humbling honor for all of them.
