Positive Coaching Alliance - Hawaii
This Inaugural dinner event will help raise funds to support the Dick Tomey Legacy Fund, which was established in May of 2019 to honor the impact and legacy that Coach Dick Tomey made throughout his coaching career.
Funds raised through this will go directly to a restricted fund and will be utilized to underwrite scholarships and programming in Hawaii for underserved programs or organizations that cannot readily afford PCA Training for their coaches.

Four days before Arizona opens the football season at Hawaii, a Dick Tomey Legacy Fund benefit dinner will be held in Honolulu to benefit the Positive Coaching Alliance organization of Hawaii. Tomey, who died of cancer in April, was Hawaii’s head football coach from 1977-86. Proceeds raised will be used for youth sports organizations in the Honolulu area.
The Dick Tomey Legacy Event falls on the week of the University of Hawaii Home Football opening game vs the University of Arizona. Ironically, the two Universities that Coach Tomey spent the majority of his head coaching career.
Coach Tomey's first head coaching job was in 1977 at the University of Hawaii, and his spirit and passion for his teams and the community left an unwavering legacy to the place he called home.
Coach Tomey believed in the power a coach can have in a young persons life, and the impact a positive youth sports experience can carry over into everyday life.
