Positive Coaching Alliance - Portland
The best Youth Sports Benefit of the Year, celebrating community impact in youth sports
This coming March 2nd, 2019, the Portland Chapter of Positive Coaching Alliance will host the 3rd Annual Jeans and Jerseys Youth Sports Awards. Dinner and drinks will be available to all those in attendance. We will host a live auction with some outstanding vacation packages, sporting events, and travel destinations to help raise funds to support the growth and development of BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLE.
The Positive Coaching Alliance-Portland is proud to award Joe Etzel with the 2019 Excellence in Leadership Award. Mr. Etzel is relentless in his pursuit to use sports as a vehicle to teach and mold young athletes. Etzel, a longtime legendary baseball coach and player at the University of Portland, is the namesake of the University of Portland Baseball field, and has long been recognized for the difference he made in the lives of his student-athletes and the impact he had on the Portland Community. Congratulations Joe!
MEET THE SIX 2019 TRIPLE-IMPACT COMPETITOR® SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
These students exemplify what it means to be a Triple-Impact Competitor®, an athlete who works to improve oneself, teammates, and the game as a whole. These individuals play a special role in Positive Coaching Alliance's mission to turn high school and youth sports into a Development Zone®, developing better athletes and better people.
Sharing the PCA spotlight will be an Excellence in Leadership Award Winner and a Triple-Impact Executive honoree. These are individuals who can be a role model for the scholarship finalists because they have taken their success as an athlete and translated the lessons learned from sports to incredible success in business.
Funds raised through this event provide PCA-Portland with the resources it needs to continue its important work in our region. Last year we reached over 50,000 athletes and over 3,500 coaches. As we continue to build momentum in this market we are optimistic that we can hit a tipping point where it becomes the norm for youth and High School sports to embrace the PCA culture.
