Positive Coaching Alliance - New England
JEANS + JERSEYS: PCA’s Positive Impact Celebration will take place on May 16, 2019. This very special evening will be meaningful as we celebrate the positive impact our honorees have had through sports, the evening will also be fun and casual. Everyone is invited to wear jeans and their favorite jersey, and, yes there will be a “best” jersey contest.
JEANS + JERSEYS is not only fun, it is PCA-New England’s principal fundraiser and an opportunity to help make a positive impact on kids in sports through your sponsorship, ticket purchases, donations, and/or silent auction purchases—featuring jerseys signed by our honorees and some of New England’s favorite athletes.
In 2018, over 180 people, including seven Olympians and professional athletes, joined the festivities and helped fund PCA. This year, with your help, we hope to raise $200,000 to help us make an impact on more kids in underserved communities throughout New England.
Kristine Lilly was a part of a watershed moment in the history of women in sports and inspired millions of girls to get in the game when, 20 years ago, she and her teammates on the 1999 US Women’s National Soccer Team, Mia Hamm, Brandi Chastain, and Julie Foudy, won the World Cup captivating the audience of 90,000+ in the Rose Bowl and 40 million more watching on television.
Devin and Jason McCourty have demonstrated a genuine commitment to community service and making a difference through their social activism, community service, and their work raising millions of dollars to support sickle cell research while delighting all of us in New England with their competitive play, sibling revelry, and appreciation of their mother.
Thomas Beckett was the guiding force of the Yale University Athletic Department as its Director for 24 years, garnering 28 national championships while remaining steadfastly focused on mentoring his coaches and developing character in Yale students through athletics.
These winners exemplify the ethos of Triple-Impact Competitors striving to make themselves, their teammates, and the game better.
