Sherman Armstrong grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the Track and Field Team at the University of Illinois from 1997-2001, where he graduated with a degree in Speech Communications.  During his time at the University of Illinois, he was the Big 10 Athlete of the year 2000, four-time NCAA All-American, nine-time Big 10 Champion, school record holder in the 400m hurdles, and was the only collegiate athlete to make the Olympic Trials finals for the USA in the 400m Hurdles in the year 2000.  Armstrong competed professionally for five years for Nike Athletics and the Santa Monica Track club.  During his pro career, he made the US Championships finals 4 times and made the Olympic Trials finals in 2004.  Armstrong was able to leave his mark as a highly decorated student-athlete and professional.  In 2013 he earned his Master’s Degree in Human Movement Science as well as the CSCS, which is the top certification for professionals in his field.  Armstrong was the Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Georgia Football Program from 2012-2015.  While at Georgia he assisted the program in becoming SEC East Champions in 2011-2012, and making three Bowl game appearances going 2-1. Armstrong is the Owner and Head Performance Director of VAST Sports Performance where he helps athletes at all levels elevate their game.  Having trained hundreds of current professional athletes Armstrong is considered among some of the best Performance Specialist in his field. Armstrong joins PCA with a mission to help athletes realize their true greatness.
