Champion High School Football Coach
Jonathan Rivers earned his BS in Marketing from Auburn University and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is a Motivational Speaker and newspaper columnist. He earned All Bi-City, All-Area and All-State honors as a senior linebacker and received varsity letters in football and baseball at Shaw High School in Columbus, GA. Jonathan broke his high school's record for tackles in a single season with 134 and is the only back-to-back winner of the Shaw High annual Iron Man competition (junior and senior years). Jonathan played fullback for Auburn University during the spring of 2001 before injuring his back.
Jonathan served as an assistant varsity and junior varsity football coach for Shaw High School from 2006-2007, helping lead them to a state championship appearance against Peach County in 2006. He has served as a youth football and baseball coach for over six years and has won two football championships as an assistant and one as a head coach. During his tenure at Auburn, Jonathan also helped coach a community youth basketball team and volunteered as an umpire for youth baseball games.
He is also the creator of “Camp Renaissance”, a football training program that develops speed, strength, agility and overall skills. In addition to physical skills, he also encompasses training in character, leadership, attitude and self-confidence.
Jonathan is married to his wife Erica and the proud father of four children: Kingston, Ezra, Adah and Titus.
