PCA Updates
Mountain View, CA – Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) -- a national non-profit developing Better Athletes, Better People through youth and high school sports -- has launched PCA-Central Texas, the organization’s 16th PCA Chapter across the U.S.
The formal launch occurred during today’s inaugural board meeting at Longhorn Network headquarters, featuring a who’s who of Central Texas sports, business and philanthropy leaders. Led by newly-installed Chapter Executive Director Trennis Jones, PCA-Central Texas will accelerate the pace in partnering with local schools and youth organizations to bring a positive, character-building youth and high school sports experience to all children ages 5-to-18.
Early adopters of PCA’s workshops, courses and free online resources include:
“Positive Coaching Alliance could not be prouder of the group assembled to launch PCA-Central Texas,” said PCA Founder and CEO Jim Thompson. “We look forward to serving schools and youth sports organizations in and around Austin, San Antonio and many other communities through our live, group workshops for youth and high school sports coaches, parents, administrators and student-athletes. We are also proud to offer free online resources for those groups at www.PCADevZone.org, especially videos and podcasts featuring local notables, such as Kristine Lilly, Colt McCoy and Cat Osterman.”
At the launch event, Thompson thanked key seed funders, such as Board Member Colin Corgan (Chief Financial Officer for Delicious Contents, a social media advertising firm) and Bob Graham, a long-time PCA supporter and Texas-based philanthropist. Excited about PCA's expansion into Central Texas, Graham, also a professional investor as Founder of AIM investments, said that, "PCA is one of the best investments I've ever made."
Thompson then facilitated introductions of this esteemed PCA-Central Texas Chapter Board:
