Soccer Explosion: Cal-North Soccer, NorCal Premier and San Jose Earthquakes

08.18.2016

PCA-SF Bay Area’s fiscal year 2016, concluding August 31, has seen an unprecedented increase in the amount of new soccer programs partnering with our chapter. In total, 18 new clubs have held workshops; increasing our soccer club partner total to 42.  The number of new clubs is highlighted by two regional governing bodies: Cal-North Soccer and Nor Cal Premier. Both organizations are hosting coach workshops throughout Northern California and also offering member clubs an affiliate discount to partner with PCA.

Contact Sean Carscadden for more information on this partnership.

The Bay Area Chapter has also renewed its partnership with San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, the City of San Jose Parks & Recreation Department, and the San Jose Earthquakes on an initiative to create a city-wide positive sports culture. For a second year, this 50-workshop partnership provides training for San Jose coaches, parents, and student-athletes.  Any youth sports organization or school using city fields can take advantage of these workshops at no cost.

The San Jose Earthquakes are proud to continue partnering with PCA-Bay Area Chapter to provide training for local coaches.  There is no better tool for teaching life skill than youth soccer and with this partnership, we hope the sport continues to grow.
